11.11.08 Edit: Added a water line, ad superimposed an image i got of frothy water so it would look more like a hot tub.

This is a contest entry for the Hideout Summer Beach Party Fanart Contest being hosted by ~gunarmdyne

The criteria was to have at least three characters. One from an anime, one from a role playing game, and one original character.

The anime girl i chose was Misa Amane from the anime Deathnote. I used a handy dandy sculpture my brother got from a sideshow collectibles coupon to figure out what she looked like and then drew her in my style.

The game girl i chose was the irresistible Nariko from Heavenly Sword, doing a quick google search came up with some massive images that were great for referencing from.

The original character is my very own Euphoria.


Major challenges i had was solving the damn lighting, there's a couple things going on with the light. first the moon is providing some back lighting so some top right reflected light as in store, second to that is the hot tub lights lighting the girls from the bottom.

Another challenge was getting the point of view to work. The background is actually based on a shot of the bay at my home town, and i didn't want to have it in focus so i could do some depth of field action.

I do admit there are some things that just don't look like what they should in actuality but really, i had nothing to go by so here's my best shot of what i think these things should look like.
